Martyn Currid - Director
Martyn is a founding Director of Sherwin Currid and is a qualified accountant with years of experience work experience as both an employee and a freelancer. Throughout his working career Martyn has provided specialist tax advice to many large organisations in the South East including Lloyds Bank, Morgan Stanley and Cornhill Insurance. Martyn founded Sherwin Currid a number of years ago when he realised that there was a lack of providers of specialist accountancy services to Freelancers and Contractors in the area. Whilst many claim to support this market sector none combined the latest technology with an efficient personal service to give clients a first class experience at a competitive price.
It is very important to Martyn that he able to personally meets with all new clients to introduce the services that we can provide. Martyn is married and has been a lifelong follower of Burnley Football club and recently completed the 3 Peaks challenge for Charity.
Max Sherwin - Director
Also a qualified accountant Max is the other founding Director of Sherwin Currid. Max's formative practice experience was at PriceWaterhouse Coopers. Subsequently Max has spent many years providing financial, accounting and commercial support to franchises and small businessesthroughout the country. Max understands well the stress that can be caused for small business owners from poor accountancy advice and service. Having known Martyn since attending the University of York many years ago it was very clear how both sets of experience could combine together to develop a fresh and innovative way of servicing Contractors and Freelancers accounting needs.
Max is married with 3 children which takes up most of his free time, although when he can he enjoys cooking and running to work off the impact of the former as well as following at first hand the fortunes of his football club Newcastle United.
Sue Russell
Sue has worked for Sherwin Currid for a number of years and is responsible for managing the delivery of accountancy services to our clients. Sue has a portfolio of clients that she manages personally but Sue also has wider responsibility for ensuring that Client Account Managers and the rest of the back office consistently provide the high quality levels of service that our clients require.
Sue is a very experienced senior manager with years of experience providing accountancy service to a wide range of companies. Sue lives in Guildford and is a Governor at a local secondary school. She enjoys seeking out new challenges in her spare time, such as competing in triathlon events and canyoning with her teenage son.
Hannah Boyle
Hannah is the Personal Tax Manager here at Sherwin Currid. Hannah is aqualified Chartered Tax Advisor and has worked as a Tax Adviser for manyyears. Prior to joining Sherwin Currid, Hannah worked at Grant Thornton and Ernst & Young providing Personal Tax and Employment Tax advice to clients.
Hannah has the depth and breadth of experience to ensure that the team meetsall of the tax needs of our clients here at Sherwin Currid.
As a mum of two young children Hannah juggles her responsibilities admirablyand ensures that tax problems, however complicated, are resolved promptlyand always take into account the best interests of our clients.
Hannah enjoys to cook, bake and eat all things tasty! She enjoys reading andis currently learning to face paint at the request of her children.
